Hi everyone
I'd love to try to organize a second meeting, to get everyone together for some more discussions, and hopefully a presentation or two on local history (to be given by members of the group, or perhaps from someone outside).
A target date would probably be sometime in May, just to give us a little bit of time to prepare/promote. We could also then include a presentation from the City Heritage Planning Department.
What kind of dates generally work best for everyone? Is Sunday afternoon a good option? Is a weeknight evening better?
Thanks for the input! Dave

Also note, for the venue, as great as Thyme & Again was, I think it will be best to try to find something a bit bigger, as we were just borderline too big for the space last time. I'm looking at possibly the Champlain Park Fieldhouse, or a room at Hintonburg CC.

I'll toss in a reaction - I like a Sunday afternoon, and although the space size is a question, having tea/coffee/snacks would be lovely.

Hey Dave,
Really hoping to make it out for the next one! But I spend WAY too many evenings in community centres and field-houses as it is. I'd prefer a more social atmosphere at a local bar or restaurant if that's interesting to everyone else.

Hi Dave I like the Sunday afternoon idea better than a weekday evening. It won't be good in the summer though once people start going away for weekends. I don't think the Champlain Park Fieldhouse is all that much bigger than Thyme & Again(?), & the chairs are awful! I like the coffee & snacks at Thyme & Again - or Bridgehead coffee close by. Another option might be the Dovercourt Recreational Centre or the Churchill Seniors Centre. You haven't mentioned the cost of lining up a meeting place. Are you thinking of asking us for a membership or a drop-in fee to put towards that or are you trying to find somewhere for free? If you would like a talk on the Cowley Family & their contribution to Kitchissippi, let me know. My only problem will be talking too much... Cheers, Christine

Thanks for this Dave.
I like Sunday afternoon. Thyme & Again is very nice. I attended a talk about Birds&Bats a few weeks ago (by former Wellington Village resident Bruce Dilabio) at a nice little auditorium at the Senior's residence located beside Gezellig (Richmond/Churchill). Perfect size for this group. Wonder if it's no-cost?

I prefer a weekday evening from 7 to 9 at a local bar or restaurant. However, I am flexible.

My preference is evenings, as I've no weekly commitments, and a late May date for the next get-together.

We would prefer a week night given Sunday work commitments.
